The Little Barley-Corne
Yuletide Revels from the Renaissance
Dec. 14 | 3:30pm
David Greenberg, who has been called “one of the most impassioned folk-fiddlers you’ll ever hear” joins forces with the Toronto Consort to throw a fabulous Christmas party of rollicking English ballads, infectious country dances and enchanting French noëls. The concerts mark the re-release of the Consort’s Little Barley-Corne CD, now appearing on the Marquis Classics label.

The Play of Daniel
May 24 | 3:30pm
The grand finale to our season is the greatest masterpiece of Medieval music theatre: a wondrous telling of the story of the writing on the wall and Daniel in the lions’ den. A full theatrical production, with the Consort Medieval players and singers joined by Kevin Skelton in the role of Daniel, and the young voices of the VIVA! Youth Singers of Toronto, this is an event not to be missed.

"The Toronto Consort consists of musicians who excel equally as singers and performers on a wide variety of early instruments… No matter what the combination the quality of performance is of a standard that all ensembles devoted to early music, would be very pleased to match."
