The Sweet Touch of Early Music
There is something quite magical about the sounds of music from the Middle Ages and Renaissance, played in an exquisite acoustic. Join us for our new season of period music at the beautiful and newly renovated Jeanne Lamon Hall in the Trinity-St. Paul’s Centre. A highlight of the year is our fully-staged production of the great masterpiece of music theatre from the Middle Ages, The Play of Daniel. Experience the vibrant music and imagery of Paris in the 16th century through the eyes of guest artist Alison Mackay in Paris Confidential; sample the sumptuous music of 17th-century Emperor Leopold’s court. And guest fiddler David Greenberg joins the Consort for a festive Yuletide celebration as featured on our upcoming CD re-release, The Little Barley-Corne. Our guest group this season, La Nef from Montreal featuring tenor Michael Slattery, presents Dowland in Dublin, a re-imagining of the music of John Dowland to more closely reflect his Irish roots! We look forward to seeing you here.
