Experience the serenity of Medieval Music
FRI & SAT, DECEMBER 4 & 5, 2020 at 8 pm | SUN, DECEMBER 6 at 3:30pm
Artistic Direction by Katherine Hill & Esteban La Rotta
The Middle Ages produced some of the most serene and heartfelt Christmas music ever written. Bringing to life the Yuletide and midwinter seasons, this program presents gems from across the Middle Ages, featuring works by Hildegard of Bingen, the splendid polyphony of Notre Dame, and irresistible 15th-century English carols. Projected images, drawn from a treasure trove of medieval paintings, manuscript illuminations, and stained glass, will light up the hall – a veritable holiday feast for the eyes, ears, and heart!
